Build your first quote

A quote tells your client what the work is and what it'll cost. ServiceYak turns your line items into a clean, branded quote you can send in minutes.

You'll create a quote for a client, add the work as line items, and see how a professional ServiceYak quote looks before you send it.

Step by step

  1. Open Quotes. Go to Quotes and tap New quote.
  2. Choose the client. Pick the client you added earlier — or add a new one on the spot.
  3. Add your line items. List the work — labour and materials, each with a quantity and price. Group them into sections if the job has distinct parts.
  4. Check the totals. ServiceYak adds up the lines and applies GST for you. Add a note or your terms if you like.
  5. Save the quote. Save it as a draft, ready to send whenever you are.

Tips

  • Save common items as a kit or template so your next quote is even faster.
  • Use sections to break a big job into parts (e.g. “Prep” and “Install”) — it reads more clearly for the client.
  • Add photos or a cover note to help the client picture the finished job.

What happens next

Your quote is saved as a draft — nothing's been sent yet. The next step is sending it to your client.

Common questions

Is my quote sent when I save it?

No. Saving keeps it as a draft. It only reaches your client when you send it — see the next guide.

Can I reuse items across quotes?

Yes. Save them as kits or templates and drop them into any future quote.
